During this time of the year many people are gathering to reunite with family and friends to celebrate the (CHRIST) MAS holiday. For some it’s a time of joy, and for others it can be a time of sorrow. We have grown accustomed to exchanging awesome gifts, eating delicious food and having great conversations; but there’s a greater purpose in this particular celebration.
Retailers have really exploited and capitalized on this time of the year because of our traditions to spend money in order to make our love ones happy. I believe that as a whole, the church has failed to shift the focus back to the one person, Jesus the (CHRIST), that was born for us. As we enter this week to celebrate (CHRIST) MAS, we should praise God for His son and what He has done for us. (CHRIST) came to set us free and allow us to accept His love towards us unconditionally. He is the real reason for the season.
I’m not saying that we should stop exchanging gifts, but let’s STOP making the focus on buying gifts. Let’s teach the next generation to recognize that (CHRIST) is the center of it all. Jesus is the reason for the season!
